Otilia is a young mother of five children. As a victim of domestic violence, she has experienced struggles not only in her marriage but also afterward. She has shown admirable resilience over the years. After deciding to leave her husband, she had no choice but to move into the room above their former cottage in Florești. There were no amenities, and she personally installed a water connection, toilet, and shower, freeing her from relying on the toilet in the part of the house where her husband resides. The organization financially supported her in purchasing the materials. This has given her back a measure of independence and dignity.

Throughout this difficult period, the domestic violence support center assigned her a lawyer who helped her obtain a restraining order against her husband. Despite this order, the harassment continued, and both Otilia and her children regularly faced unsafe situations. The ongoing stress affected her mental health, and she experienced depression. With support from a psychologist and the right medication, she has since recovered and is doing well again. At first, she received support to attend her appointments, but she now goes independently.

After years of saving money, first through her work and later by collecting bottles, Otilia was able to buy a small house. She has since completely renovated it. The house represents hope, a new beginning, and a future free from violence and oppression.
