Educational groupEducation brings positive change. It focuses not only on children and youth, but also on adults who never finished primary school. Some adults cannot read or write, and often lack basic knowledge about healthy eating and hygiene. The project increases knowledge and provides ample opportunities for personal growth.
Topics
An educational course is held every two weeks. Many topics are discussed here, such as parenting, basic medical care, healthy eating, and hygiene. Most participants are mothers.
Long term
People are encouraged to attend this educational course. If they attend regularly, they will receive assistance when they need goods or materials.
This way, the community receives help with immediate needs. At the same time, people have the opportunity for positive long-term changes.
Lucia's story...
Lucia is always on the move. Not because anyone asks her to, but because it is simply who she is: a woman who cares for others and gives of herself. She can often be found in the kitchen, kneading dough for gogoși or finely chopping cabbage for her famous sarmale. The warmth and aroma from her kitchen drift naturally toward the church, where she brings her trays of food without expecting anything in return.
She raised ten children. Now, at 69 years old, she has been caring for her grandson for twelve years, ever since he was just a toddler. Every morning, even before six o’clock, she gets up for him. Before starting her own day, she cleans a doctor’s office and an apartment to make ends meet. Lucia carries more than meets the eye. Her health is fragile, and at home she lives with a man whose struggle with alcohol has grown worse over the years, bringing aggression into their home. Lucia rarely speaks about it. She has learned to endure quietly, finding strength in the small things that are still beautiful.
Lucia’s story is one of struggle, yes, but even more, it is a story of love. A love that she puts into every meal she prepares, every person she helps, and every life she touches. As long as she is here, her home, no matter how difficult it may sometimes be, will remain a safe place for her grandson.That's because Lucia is a woman who brings warmth even in the hardest seasons. That is her strength. That is her story.
