The Charis Foundation processes your personal data as you use our website and/or because you provide us with your information.

Particular and/or sensitive personal data that we process
Our intention is not to collect information about visitors younger than 18 years of age, unless they have received permission from their parents or legal guardian. However, we cannot verify whether or not a visitor is younger than 18 years old. Therefore, we advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data on their children being collected without parental/legal guardian consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about minors without consent, please contact us so we may remove this data.
Purpose and grounds on which we process personal data
The Charis Foundation processes personal data for the following purposes:
- Sending our (digital) newsletter and/or additional information regarding our work
- Calling or e-mailing you if this is necessary in enabling us to provide our services.
- Informing you about changes in our services and products
- The Charis Foundations analyzes your behavior on the website in order to improve the website.

The Charis Foundation does not make any decisions based on automated processing about matters which could have (considerable) consequences for persons. We are talking about decisions which are made by computer programs or systems, without any human involvement (for example one of our employees). You may ask us which computer programs or systems we use.
How long do we keep personal data
The Charis Foundation does not keep your personal data any longer than is necessary to achieve the goals for which your data is collected. We have a standard period of 1 year in which we keep your personal data (personal details, address), with the purpose of contacting you should the necessity to do so arises.
Sharing of personal data with third parties
The Charis Foundation does not share your personal data with third parties. The collected personal details are for our own business management alone.
Cookies, or similar techniques, which we use
The Charis Foundation uses functional, analytical, and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is saved within the browser of your computer, tablet, or smartphone during the first visit to a website. The Charis Foundation uses cookies with a purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly and that, for example, your preferences and settings are saved for potential future visits. These cookies are also used for the good functionality and optimization of the website. We do not place cookies (like a Facebook Pixel code) to collect your browsing behavior in order to offer advertisements and content tailored to your browsing habits. We use the services of Mailmonkey if you contact us via the contact form. We use Google Analytics to measure your visits.
You can unsubscribe to cookies by setting your internet browser up to no longer save cookies. Besides this you also have the possibility to remove all previously saved information via the settings of your browser. As an example, you could use Ghostery for this purpose.
Viewing, editing, or removing data
You have the right to view, correct, or remove your personal data. In addition to this you have the right to revoke your permission of data processing, or to object to the processing of your personal data by the Charis Foundation, and you have the right to data portability. This means you can request that we send your personal data to you or to another organization, named by you.
You can send your request of inspection, correction, removal, or data portability of your personal data, as well as your request to revoke your permission for the processing of your personal data to info@stcharis.org.
To ensure the request to inspection was done by you, we ask you to provide us with a copy of your identity document along with the request. Cover the picture, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and National Identification Number with black rectangles. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, within four weeks.
The Charis Foundation would also like to point out that you have the possibility to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority of your country. This is possible through the following link.
How we secure personal data
The Charis Foundation takes the protection of your data very seriously and takes appropriate measures to combat misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized changes. We do this using:
- Security software, like virus scanners and firewalls.
- TLS (previously SSL) We send your data through a secure internet connection. You can notice this in the address bar which shows ‘HTTPS’ as well as the lock in the address bar.
- Other methods which are also administered by our service provider.
